Successful outsourcing relationships focus on what counts the most. Many businesses choose an outsourcing partner or service provider on instincts, without initially matching their needs with the partner’s capabilities.

The two most important outsourcing advantages and disadvantages are trust and security – without these, the relationship is destined for failure. It is therefore important that a prospective client takes the time and effort required to find the perfect partner.

All of the parties involved in the outsource solution must determine, together, how to arrange their relationship. They must be willing to partner at a different level than they have experienced thus far .

The steps in this process should be focused as follows:
• Open Communication honesty, self-disclosure and feedback are all imperatives in order to gain a clearunderstanding of what counts the most to parties.

• A close working relationship amongst Parties to find the value of their relationship that lies beyond what is in the contract and that will be of mutual benefit.

• Once the parties find the value that can be created, the client and service provider need to work together to formulate joint objectives.

• Parties must buy into the overall strategy - as well as the mutually agreed objectives - to achieve such a strategy.

• Incentives that align parties’ interests should be identified which will in turn motivate them to work together towards these joint objectives.

• A win-win strategy must be created.

• A new joint culture needs to be instilled that will decree how the parties behave and respond to new challenges, ie, how they influence the success of the partnership. This includes structuring the way the parties communicate.

• Parties must be flexible enough to do what works, even if it`s not their `strong suit”.
